The Aces hung tough with the Sand Sharks until very late in the game, but the Sand Sharks emerged with a 7-4 win and an intact winning streak. Both teams scored within the first minute of the game on goals by the Sand Shark’s Nathan Souza and the Aces’ Josiah Martinez. The Sand Sharks took the lead with 15:10 left in the first period on a short-handed goal by Andre Bobowicz. The Aces tied it up at 2-2 when Gus Komarek scored with 11:52 left in the period. The Sand Sharks again took the lead with 1:18 left in the period on another goal by Bobowicz. The Sand Sharks opened up a two-goal lead with 4:34 left in the second period on a goal by Dave Beaudin, but the Aces cut that lead to one goal when Ferris Kritzer scored a short-handed goal with twenty-five seconds left in the second period. The Sand Sharks took a 5-3 lead with 7:08 left in the third period on Beaudin’s second goal of the night. The Aces responded with a power-play goal by Gavin Frost with 3:28 left in regulation to cut the Sand Sharks’ lead to 5-4. The Sand Sharks put the game out of reach with goals by Nathan Borek and Anderson Libby in the last two and a half minutes of the game to secure a 7-4 win. Shots on goal were Aces 25, Sand Sharks 53.
