The Sting Rays and Minute Men battled in a game that frequently changed leads or was tied and headed into the final period knotted up at 5-5. The Sting Rays added two goals in the third period, including a shorty by Richard Poweska, to seal the 7-5 win. The Minute Men got on the board first with goals by George Brkljacic (who had two goals on the night) and Hunter Chace. The Sting Rays tied the score with goals by Chandler Odell at the 13:35 and 8:48 marks of the first period. The teams exchanged goals before the Sting Ray’s Jackson Payne scored a power play goal at the 1:34 mark to give the Sting Rays a 4-3 lead heading into the second period. The Sting Rays took a 5-3 lead early in the second period with the hat trick from Odell before the Minute Men fought back with goals from Ryan Compton and Robert Scire as he scored in his debut as a Minute Man to tie the score going into the final period. The Sting Ray’s Erik LaFlamme had one goal and one assist, and the Minute Men’s Scott Mezack had two assists. Shots on goal were Sting Rays 44, Minute Men 46.
