Week two matchups and three new players added lead the headlines for this weeks news and notes.

With the early bye week out of the way due to Columbus Day tournaments, the FIHL is set to resume games this weekend at TBSA. The games will begin at 4:30 pm as the Sand Sharks take on the Minute Men followed by the Aces vs. the Sting Rays. The Sand Sharks will get one their mainstays from last season back in the lineup as Patrick Dary is set to return while the Minute Men might wind up a bit short due to High School events. That being said the FIHL signed another outstanding 08 player this week to a pool player contract with the potential to go full time who will be in the line up for the Sand Sharks for tomorrow nights game. Dylan Sinclair signed on the dotted line and is looking forward to the challenge.

“Dylan is a real good skater who will benefit from playing against bigger players and the added ice time. If he decides to play full time he will be a good addition where ever he is assigned.”

Dylan currently plays for the Junior Lightning Travel club and is enjoying success at that level already. In game two, the Aces, in keeping with their family legacy tradition, will be adding the Macris twins to their roster as both players signed full time deals with the FIHL and the Aces last weekend.

“The Macris boys, (Alex and Mike), will definitely fill the Aces up and make them a very tough team. We may end up making some trades down the road after the mandatory six game evaluation period, but we will see.”

Alex and Michael will make their debuts tomorrow night vs the Sting Rays and have already practiced with their new team. The FIHL has room for just a few more players and while the pool players continue to be added, once a full time slot is filled, it is filled! So spread the word and get them while they are hot!

This weeks raffle will be a traditional “split the pot” as the FIHL continues to see unique, memorable and affordable items to raffle off. If any have any leads, submit them to the league! The winners of last weeks opening night raffles were Braden Spencer and John Thompson both of the Minute Men! Congrats!

If there are any family members of players that are singers, we would love to hear your version of the national anthem! Also, if there are any young and budding photographers out there, our resident league Photographer, Francis Fedor of Fedor Photography, would love to work with you, and share tips etc. The FIHL likes having players and families involved so any ideas to add to our league feel free to submit them!

That is all until tomorrow nights tilts!! See you at the rink!!
